Marcon deliver Johnstons of Elgin’s first store in Ireland
Marcon completed the high end fit out of new Johnstons of Elgin store at Kildare Village Outlet Shopping in Ireland.
Established in 1797 at Newmill Elgin on the banks of the River Lossie, Johnstons of Elgin is the UK’s largest producer of luxury cashmere and fine woollens and is the only mill in the UK to take raw fibre and transform it each step of the way into an impressive range of exceptional cashmere, wool, and natural fibre products.
Although they have six stores throughout the UK, this is their first venture into Ireland and Marcon are privileged that we were selected as Principal Contractor for the fit out works.
The new store is a single-story retail unit with a mezzanine level at the rear. The ground floor has a gross area of 160 m2 and incorporates retail space and fitting rooms.
The mezzanine floor comprises the stockroom, staff room and office. This layout provides a huge double height void to the front, which allowed for a creative and dynamic design solution that emphasizes the core identity of the brand through secondary signage, such as a seasonal graphic image.
Director at Marcon, Mark McElroy commented: “It has been very exciting transforming this empty shell into the elegant store it is today and we wish Johnstons of Elgin the best of luck with their new store opening.”
